You know the feeling. You’ve spent three nights reading about a machine — a WaveRunner, a Grom, a Talon, a tritoon with more seats than your living room — and every page you land on is either a spec sheet with no opinion or an opinion with no spec sheet. The forum thread from 2019 argues with itself. The video review was shot in the Utah desert, which is nice for Utah. Nobody mentions salt, summer, or what a July afternoon in Bonita Springs does to a black seat.

The Outpost exists to be the page you wished you’d found first.

What this is

The Outpost is the editorial side of Power Lodge Florida, the powersports and marine dealership on the Tamiami Trail in Bonita Springs. The showroom site is where you check today’s inventory and price. This is where we put everything a showroom can’t fit on a hang tag:

• Reviews of the motorcycles, personal watercraft, side-by-sides, ATVs, pontoons, and center consoles we actually sell — in depth, with the lows next to the highs.
• Head-to-heads for the decisions people actually make on our floor: three-seater versus two-seater, 500 versus 650, pontoon versus tritoon, which side-by-side survives the mud.
• Buyer’s guides that start with how you’ll really use the thing — Gulf mornings, Caloosahatchee weekends, the sand and slop out east — and work backward to the machine, the way buying your first jet ski here already does.
• Florida rules, cited to the statute or the agency, updated when they change. Who needs a boating safety card. What an ATV can and can’t do on a Florida road. What “titled and registered” means for a jet ski.
• SWFL local: launches, ride spots, seasons, storms, and the honest ownership stuff — salt, sun, and storage — that nobody north of Tampa has to think about.

Why is a dealership writing reviews?

Fair question. Here’s the honest answer: because we’re the ones who hear what happens after the sale.

A magazine gets a press bike for two days. We get the same bike back at 600 miles for its first service, then at 6,000, then we hear which accessory the owner wishes they’d ordered on day one. We know which side-by-side comes back with the same rattle and which pontoon layout families outgrow in a season. That’s the knowledge a showroom conversation is built on, and we’ve never written it down anywhere you could read it at eleven at night.

We only cover what we carry — Yamaha, Honda, Kawasaki, Sea-Doo, Can-Am, CFMOTO, and our boat builders — and we say so on every page. We don’t take manufacturer money for coverage. And a review does not get kinder because the unit is sitting on our floor: talking you into the wrong machine costs us the service relationship and the referral, which is the actual business.
